A new Consensus on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health is due to be presented at the UN General Assembly in New York this week (Wednesday 23 September, 3pm-4pm New York time). Immpact, as a member of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health, has contributed to this and endorses its message.
This document outlines the action required at global, national and sub-national levels to accelerate progress towards achieving Millenium Development Goals 4 (reduce child mortality) and 5 (improve maternal health), as well as MDG 6 (combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases) by 2015.
